In a few weeks I travel to Toronto to be part of the 15 year celebration of the Daily Planet television show on Discovery Channel Canada. Host Jay Ingram and I first worked together when he was the host of Quirks and Quarks on CBC radio. He and I would end many of the shows with a funny bit about physics, usually with lots of sound effects to make us sound as though we were in a bar, a rodeo, on top a flag pole, being chased by the police, etc.
He and I have also done a number of bits on the television show since it started, but for that, we had to be on location for real, none of that fake sound effects stuff.
The 15 year celebration show will be aired on Sunday, October 10 at 8 pm ET/PT. I do not know if that includes the US.

I wanted to point out an error in the Fundamentals of Physics book but the email address physics@wiley.com is bouncing and I could not find any other way of reaching you, hence am posting here.
I found a mistake in the Fundamentals of Physics (Extended) (Halliday / Resnick / Walker) - 8th Edition. (I have the Wiley India edition).
In chapter 1, on page number 8, in Sample problem 1-4 (Ground liquefaction in during earthquakes).
The answer says "we find that liquefaction occurs when the sand density exceeds 1.4x103 kg/m3."
"exceeds" is the exact opposite of the correct answer. Liquefaction will occur when the sand desity goes BELOw the calculated value. See equation 1-13.

Thanks very much. Yes, you are right. We found that error about 3 years ago and got it corrected in all the books that have been published since then. Thanks for taking the trouble to write. Feel free to post any other corrections.
